Job Summary:
This position is for a Software/Firmware Test Engineer in the engineering SW/FW test group which is an integral part of the core Teledyne RDI new product development team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing tests, executing, analyzing the results and reporting defects
- Participate in driving the quality of product, all the way from requirement specification through release.
- Improve and extend internal test frameworks and automation tests.
- Perform exploratory product testing.
- Writing work instructions and other test related documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related, or equivalent experience.
- Prefer 3+ years of experience as a Software Test Engineer
- Experience developing and executing and test plans/ procedures / test cases from the ground up using functional specifications for existing products
- Experience with current and widely used / industry standard testing and bug tracking tools.
- Experience with test automation for Windows applications and/or embedded software on complex scientific products is a plus
- Experience with build environments and product installations is a plus
- Industry knowledge is a plus
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office
- May require light physical labor; lifting objects of up to 10 pounds
- Ability to work safely around test tanks and electrical current
- Occasional product quality testing in marine environments, occasionally working on a small boat or larger vessel
- US person (US citizen or green card holder)

Leading company in a medical niche that is pioneering how patients can receive better treatment. To meet the demands of new technology, our client is moving their client/server product to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). All IT processes will be streamlined as they move to agile development and automation using the HP Quality Center enterprise system.
In this key Lead Software QA role, you will design the automation framework for QTP as it fits into the HP Quality Center process across the whole IT department.
- You will mentor a bright team of QA engineers who have been using QTP but now ready to integrate their work with the developers.
- Your challenge will be to take QTP across multiple platforms (Windows, Unix, AIX) with multiple languages such as C++, Java, Java Scripting, so you will never be bored!
- Also, you will build test scripts; map out the roll-out to different groups; instruct them on the usage of Quick Test Pro; and structure the overall design.
