Al GoodmanPeople get frustrated when they attend presentations on baselines and models and they are only taught WHAT you are required to do for baselines and models, but are not taught HOW to create baselines and models, which is where people struggle. This presentation will show how to use statistical analysis to determine the right number of baselines and how to create a useful model.

Diane received a Top 10 Presenters award for this topic at the 2009 SEPG conference.

If someone tells you that you would be audited, what is your first reaction? It is understandable if you don’t have a warm and fuzzy feeling about the audit. The fact is that auditing is an integral part of quality assurance. As quality assurance professionals, we will participate in audits from time to time. This presentation is a brief overview of auditing, its benefits, and its success factors. Its aim is to prepare you to participate in an audit. If time permits, there will be a short open forum about auditing after the presentation.

Al GoodmanAll the software maturity models, standards, and regulations have a common theme: Have a solid process basis; Follow those processes operationally; Be able to prove it. Companies that do all these also get higher software quality, higher process repeatability, higher developmental controls, and a mechanism for true process improvements, reducing life cycle costs, reducing time-to-market durations, and shortening system test times.

It just makes good business sense to pay attention to this aspect of your business! It also makes good business sense to eliminate all the wasted time for employees to wonder about day-to-day operational aspects that a good process basis addresses. All these affect your bottom line cost dollars and profits especially in this current business environment.
