Replacing or upgrading a patient medical record or financial system in a healthcare facility is a major undertaking. Implementations require highly specialized staff and system validation by clinical and non-clinical hospital staff. In this session you will learn about the challenges and complexities of system validation in a healthcare setting. What level of testing is required when replacing a legacy system with 30 to 40 downstream applications?

About Our Speakers

Jesse Martinez is a Quality Assurance Consultant with a passion for quality. His career focus is to deliver world-class quality implementations in a healthcare setting, providing industry’s “best practice” knowledge expertise in the areas of project management, quality assurance, configuration management and process improvement. Mr. Martinez has over 20 years of quality assurance, software testing, configuration management and process improvement experience. He is a Certified Software Test Engineer and holds a BS from National University. He also served as chairman for the Southern California Quality Assurance Association from 1999 to 2002. Mr. Martinez is speaking this month at the Eclipsys User Network in Dallas, on the subject of Test Planning and Execution in a Healthcare Setting.

Kenna Bridgmon is a Senior Healthcare Consultant. She has served as Director of Customer Care and Product Design, Director of Client Services, Director of Clinical Systems, and Senior Installation Manager. Ms. Bridgmon has twenty-six years healthcare industry experience specializing in Hospital Information Systems, Emergency Department Information Systems development, and implementation project management. She is a Registered Nurse and has earned a BA from the University of Nebraska.
