How do project teams manage software development projects from start to finish? What milestones should a software quality engineer look for to assure a timely and quality software product release? The answer is simple. Select and follow a Software Development Life Cycle, or SDLC, and the chances of consistently releasing a quality product will improve significantly.
There are a number of well known SDLC models used in industry today. At this workshop, Joe Freitas will provide you an overview of each — briefly describing their purpose, benefits and drawbacks. You will then be introduced to key SDLC milestones; milestones that map the journey of a product’s development in its development lifecycle. These milestones become important quality deliverables that can be used in gauging the quality of the developed software product.
In this hands-on workshop, you will get an opportunity to identify, plan and map key SDLC milestones following a Waterfall model. Time permitting; you may also be able to wear an auditor’s hat to audit another team’s SDLC plan. Because one learns better by doing, this workshop is expected to be fun, fast paced and educational. No prior knowledge of SDLC is expected however, those that do have experience, are encouraged share their experiences with their teams. Join in a friendly competition defining the Waterfall SDLC, a competition where everyone is a winner!
