Defining and Developing Influence in the Workplace

The presentation is one hour and concerns a critical component of leadership - Influence. In order to cause change in an organization, one must understand how to direct their influence within it. Many organizations suffer because its members don’t embrace their role as influencers, even though the organization is in desperate need of new ideas. This presentation will help the audience to understand the source of influential power and the actions to take in order to influence individuals, groups, and organizations. Once knowledgeable of the actions required to influence the people with which they have contact at work, practitioners will learn how to direct their influence, strengthen their relationships, and improve their business results.

About Our Speaker

Gregg Oliver, has worked as an individual contributor and manager in engineering and manufacturing businesses for over 30 years. He holds a BS in Quality Engineering, an MS degree in Quality Systems Management and is the principal of Pathfinder Communication in San Diego. He is also the Vice Chair for the San Diego section of the American Society for Quality, and hold certificates in quality engineering, reliability engineering, and software quality engineering from that organization. His passions are problem solving and communication.

In order to find solutions to the issues that bogged down project management and problem solving teams, Gregg studied and practiced for over 15 years to develop a potent amalgam of high-performance communication practices. These practices blend powerful communication, relationship improvement, and influence creation techniques and transform practitioners into skilled leaders and confident change agents
